CILC // New countries, new projects


2015 brings a number of interesting new international legal cooperation opportunities for CILC, including projects in countries where we have not worked in before / in recent years.

 

Supporting the development of the legal aid system in Azerbaijan

Within the Judicial Services and Smart Infrastructure Project (JSSIP) funded by the World Bank in the Republic of Azerbaijan, CILC has been subcontracted to assist the Azeri Ministry of Justice in improving legal aid services to citizens, particularly to vulnerable segments of the population, such as internally displaced persons and residents of remote regions. The assignment is expected to start in in the coming quarter and is to be concluded within a period of 6 months.

Legislative impact assessment in Georgia

As partners in the consortium led by IBF International Consulting, CILC and IRZ will be involved in the implementation of a new EU technical assistance project in Georgia. The objective of this contract will be to improve legislative processes at the central level of government, as well as the representation and reporting function, with special emphasis on the Ministry of Justice in regard of EU accession.

 

EU Twinning Human Rights Council Morocco

Together with the Netherlands Institute for Human Rights, CILC is representing the Netherlands as a partner in the new EU twinning project Renforcement des capacités du Conseil National des Droits de l’Homme (CNDH) du Royaume du Maroc à exercer ses missions de protection et de promotion des Droits de l’Homme. The project is led by the French National Consultative Commission on Human Rights (CNCDH) and also includes partners from Austria.

 

EU-Central Asia Rule of Law Platform Phase II

CILC is also a partner in the consortium led by IBF International Consulting, which will implement Phase II of the EU-Central Asia Rule of Law Platform. The project kick-off meeting took place in Brussels on 3 February 2015 and the project is designed to run for 36 months.

 

Support for National Justice Policy in Burkina Faso

CILC is now also active in Burkina Faso, as part of the consortium selected to implement the EU funded project Assistance technique de long et de court terme pour le programme d’appui à la Politique Nationale de Justice du Burkina Faso. The consortium led by B&S Europe will provide support to target justice sector institutions over a total period of 4 years.
