The cooperation between CILC and our German sister organisation IRZ spans almost two decades and has gained new momentum since 2013. CILC and IRZ are partners in an increasing number of projects and our work together has made it clear that we not only share the same goals in supporting rule of law worldwide, but also face similar challenges in our daily operations and in representing the justice sectors of the Netherlands and Germany in international legal cooperation projects. More than ever, we are aware that we can pool our resources to develop common solutions for our shared problems, as well as grow and improve by learning from each other.
This has received new confirmation during the productive two day CILC and IRZ workshop held in beautiful Landgraaf (Limburg, NL) earlier this week. Guided by expert trainer and moderator Joeke Abbing, we explored our vision for more effective collaboration and defined concrete steps for strengthening it further (even going as far as to develop a joint action plan for enhanced cooperation).
In the coming months, we will implement our joint action plan and take measures for more strategic cooperation, develop joint working methodologies and tools, develop and implement more joint projects and also pursue joint professional trainings and staff exchanges.
Our outlook for the success of this partnership is very optimistic, and ostensibly proven by the enthusiastic support provided by the CILC team to our IRZ colleagues while watching the Germany – Algeria match of the football World Cup in Landgraaf together.
