I joined CILC in 2022 as a junior Project Manager. Currently I work as a Project Manager with a focus on the female leadership in the MENA region via the Shiraka programmes and Suriname.

Experience and expertise

Throughout my studies and career, I have studied and worked abroad and had an international focus. Before joining CILC, I worked with survivors of violence and asylum seekers in two different roles at the Dutch Ministry of Justice and Security. I hold Master’s Degrees in Human Rights from University College London and History with a focus on conflict studies from the University of Amsterdam.

Passion and vision

I am a strong advocate of the rule of law and human rights. I am passionate about contributing to a more just world. I believe we can achieve this by connecting the international community with local actors.

Joëlle works on these projects

This project offers practical coaching to approx. 15 criminal law trainee judges; 15 criminal law trainee judges and 10 civil law trainee legal staff to contribute to the professionalization of Suriname’s justice system.
