The President of the Russian Supreme Arbitration Court, Anton Alexandrovich Ivanov, accompanied by four legal experts, visits CILC from 13 – 17 September 2010 in the context of more than 15 years of Dutch-Russian legal cooperation in the field of civil law. The Russian experts are in The Netherlands to get informed on the Dutch system of proprietary law.
The Russian Supreme Arbitration Court is the highest Russian authority for the settlement of economic disputes. The delegation that visits The Netherlands this week is also part of the working group on Proprietary Law of the Russian Research Center for Private Law. The working group prepares an advice to President Medvedev how to modernize the Russian civil code on obtaining, protecting and registering property. In this context the delegation will consult Minister of Justice Hirsch Ballin, professor of private law at Maastricht University Van Erp, the Kadaster International and the Royal Dutch Notarial Society. The visit is being facilitated by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs.
