On Thursday 11 April 2019, a group of students and mentors of the Ukrainian Leadership Academy visited CILC to talk about the future of Ukraine in Europe. This year, the ULA Leadership Expedition to the EU included working visits to Poland, Belgium and the Netherlands. CILC director Willem van Nieuwkerk and senior project manager Lino Brosius presented on CILC’s work in Ukraine in view of the country’s reform agenda. This led to a lively exchange of opinions with these new leaders of Ukraine on progress, challenges, and sustainable improvements in the justice and governance sectors. Van Nieuwkerk and Brosius were impressed by the presentation of two students about their academy, the approach and the voluntary work they do for their communities back home.
